GIPS, strives for overall high quality of services and is committed to provide both technical and interpersonal aspects of care provision in a safe and therapeutic environment.GIPS is fully licensed by the State Mental Health Authority. GIPS is a uniquely designed organization where inpatient and outpatient care is provided to patients suffering from mental illnesses of all age groups starting from children to geriatrics.

Inpatient and outpatient care is provided for: Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Affective Disorders, or Personality disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Suicidal behavior, Headaches, Epilepsies, substance abuse disorders including alcoholism, smoking, opium, sedatives etc. and many more that fall under the roof of Psychiatry.

GIPS Hospital, plays an important role as a teaching faculty for the VS Hospital, and Shardaben Hospital. Each year, under the direction of medical and mental health professional staff, more than 50 students receive practical experience in the fields of psychiatry and psychology.

GIPS Hosital in Ahmedabad also runs a comprehensive four months certificate course for the training of new aspiring psychologists where they learn to apply practically the general principles of psychology and science of behavior and mental process by way of different techniques and testings.

At GIPS Hospital in Gujarat, we offer Observership for newly graduated degree and diploma holder Psychiatrists.

GIPS, aims to establish best possible care for people who experience mental health problems and to help identify new treatments for the patients suffering from mental illnesses. A primary focus of this research is the development of new technology to improve the quality of life for those with mental illness. Current research projects focus on Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Depression, Bipolar Disorders and Addictions.

As part of the GIPS’s ongoing effort to educate the community about mental illness, GIPS participates in a wide variety of community events, including medical health camps, community meetings and other events, in order to educate people about mental illness.

GIPS, has also developed a patient education literature program to meet the needs of patients and the public for mental health information. The literature contains written information on how to identify symptoms of common mental illnesses, when to seek help and how to treat – and is available in patient waiting areas.

Materials, workshops, presentations are delivered by Doctors and clinicians for the community members and are also encouraged to come in to seek answers to their mental health questions.
